Both hold Kahnawake licences: 22Casino No. 01056, TonyBet No. 00902. Verified on the operators’ sites in October 2026.

A Kahnawake licence is issued by the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission, which licenses gaming “within and from the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawà:ke”. It is not a provincial licence. TonyBet’s terms say tonybet.com serves Canada excluding Ontario and Alberta; Ontario players are served by a separate, iGaming Ontario-listed TonyBet operation, under different terms.

22Casino’s banners read “Welcome package up to 2360 CAD + 150 FS” (homepage) and “Welcome package of up to 2250 CAD + 150 FS” (promotions page). The spin count is consistent; the cash figure is not, and we couldn’t load a bonus terms page to settle it.

For a spin-focused player, 150 is modest next to the GBL sites, but 22Casino’s appeal lies in its broad multi-provider slot lobby rather than the size of its pack.

Up to 100 Spins on the 10th Deposit

22Casino’s “Loyalty Pays Off” promotion offers up to 100 free spins and a 50% tenth-deposit bonus for slots. It is one of the few offers in our group that rewards a long-standing account rather than a new one.

Ten deposits is a lot of commitment for 100 spins, so we’d see this as a bonus for people who already play there, not a reason to keep depositing.

Feed the Kraken: 50 Spins

A homepage tile titled “Feed the Kraken – Claim 50 FS” asks for five deposits of at least 20 EUR. That’s the euro equivalent written on a Canadian-facing page, so check the CAD amount in the cashier. As with the tenth-deposit offer, no full terms were available on the pages we read.

TonyBet: 250 Spins and 6 Bonus Games

TonyBet’s landing page shows “$2500 + 250 bonus spins + 6 Bonus games”. When you register, the bonus selector offers “First Deposit Casino 100% up to $1000 + 100 free spins”, so the first deposit carries 100 of the 250 spins. The split of the rest, and the free spin game, didn’t load on the offer page.

TonyBet’s FAQ also says its “100% first deposit bonus is limited to CAD 120”, which conflicts with the $1,000 card. We’d confirm in live chat before relying on either number.

TonyBet’s Free Spin Rules

TonyBet publishes general bonus terms that cover free spins in more detail than most of its peers.

The 3x deposit clause is the one to note. If you deposit $20 for spins, plan to wager at least $60 of that deposit on slots as well, or the spin winnings can be cancelled.

How to Calculate the Real Value of Free Spins

A free spin offer is worth the number of spins times the stake per spin, times the slot’s RTP, minus what the wagering on the winnings costs you, capped at the withdrawal limit. Most offers in Canada don’t print the stake per spin, which is why spin counts alone tell you little.

The only spin value published by our 12 sites was €0.50 per spin for the Super Bonus spins at Need for Spin and Wild Tokyo. For the other offers, check the bonus details in your account after crediting; the stake per spin usually shows in the slot once the spins are active.

Step 1: Spin Value Times Number of Spins

Start with face value. 100 spins at C$0.20 each are C$20 of play. 200 spins at C$0.10 are also C$20. Two offers with very different headline counts can be identical in value.

These are illustrations, not quoted spin values. The point stands either way: 750 spins at C$0.10 are worth less than 200 spins at C$0.50.

Step 2: Apply the RTP

A slot’s return to player (RTP) is its long-run average payout. At 96% RTP, C$20 of spins returns about C$19.20 on average. Some sessions return nothing, and a few return far more, but the average is what you should plan around.

Use the RTP shown in the slot’s info screen at your casino, because many slots exist in more than one RTP version. Our online slots guide explains how to find it.

Step 3: Account for Wagering on the Winnings

Free spin winnings usually land in a bonus balance that you must wager before withdrawing. At Winshark’s 45x on the bonus amount, C$19.20 of winnings means C$864 in slot bets before you can cash out.

Each of those bets carries the house edge. At 96% RTP, the expected cost of C$864 in bets is about C$34.56, which is more than the C$19.20 you started with. On average, the balance runs out before the wagering is done.

Worked Example: 200 Spins at C$0.20

Take a welcome card with 200 spins and assume C$0.20 per spin, a 96% RTP slot and x45 wagering on winnings.

1. Face value: 200 x C$0.20 = C$40 of spins.
2. Expected winnings: C$40 x 96% = C$38.40 in your bonus balance.
3. Wagering: C$38.40 x 45 = C$1,728 in slot bets.
4. Expected cost of wagering: C$1,728 x 4% = C$69.12, which is more than the C$38.40 balance.
5. Time limit: at C$1 per spin, 1,728 spins inside 5 days.

The result is typical: most players won’t finish, a minority will, and the few who hit a big win early are the ones who cash out, up to any cap. Free spins are entertainment with a lottery-style upside, not a source of profit.

Worked Example: Super Bonus Spins at €0.50

Wild Tokyo’s top weekly Super Bonus is 70 spins at €0.50, or €35 of face value. At 96% RTP, expect around €33.60 in winnings. At x50, that is €1,680 of wagering, with an expected cost of about €67.

Collecting all 7 daily bonuses that week also means 7 deposits. The Super Bonus is a small rebate on that activity, not an offer in its own right.

Why Big Spin Totals Can Mislead

A 750-spin pack sounds bigger than a 300-spin pack, but you only see the spins as you deposit, one card at a time, each with its own 5-day window. The pack’s size reflects how much you deposit, not how much you get for free.

Compare offers on three numbers instead: stake per spin, wagering on winnings and the win cap. If a site won’t show you all three, assume the least generous version.

Free Spin Win Caps in Canada: The Numbers

Every site in our comparison caps what you can withdraw from free spins, and the cap depends on how you got the spins: C$70 to C$160 for no-deposit spins, 5x or 10x your deposit for some deposit spins, and C$700 to C$790 for spins from shops, tournaments and loyalty levels. These figures come from the operators’ bonus terms, verified in October 2026.

A cap is applied at withdrawal or when the bonus converts: anything above it is removed from your balance. It is the single most important number in any free spin offer, because it limits the upside that justifies playing them at all.

How a Cap Cuts a Lucky Run

Suppose 30 Easy Start spins hit a bonus round and pay C$400. If those spins counted as no-deposit or loyalty spins at a C$150 cap, C$250 would be removed. At Winshark, a C$30 deposit with the general 5x rule would leave C$150 from that bonus.

Caps exist because free spins attract players who will spin once and leave. The trade-off for you is simple: the bigger the deposit behind the spins, the higher a deposit-linked cap goes, and a no-deposit cap is fixed no matter what you win.

Registration Bonuses Have the Lowest Caps

Rolling Slots and Need for Spin advertise up to C$950 and 150 free spins a day in their Bonus Shops, bought with coins earned through play. Purchases are limited to 3 in 24 hours, and winnings from Shop spins are capped at C$700 (C$790 at Winshark).

Coins come from real-money slot play, so Shop spins are a loyalty rebate. They’re worth collecting if you already play, not worth chasing.

Wagering on Free Spin Winnings Explained

Free spin winnings are almost always paid as bonus money that you must wager a set number of times before withdrawing; in October 2026 the multipliers we found ranged from 30x (TonyBet welcome) to x50 (Wild Tokyo daily spins). The multiplier applies to what the spins win, not to the number of spins, unless the terms say otherwise.

The mechanics differ by operator, and the difference changes the maths. Our wagering requirements guide covers cash bonuses; this section stays on spins.

Note the Golisimo and Kingmaker default: x35 on deposit plus bonus is heavier than it looks. On a C$100 deposit with a C$100 bonus, that’s C$7,000 in bets.

Wagering on Winnings vs on the Bonus

When wagering applies to spin winnings, a dry spell costs you nothing extra: if 50 spins win C$0, there is nothing to wager. When it applies to a combined bonus (as with Winshark’s welcome pack, where spin winnings join the cash bonus), the cash part drives most of the requirement.

At Need for Spin and Wild Tokyo, the daily bonus terms say that for players from a few European countries the multiplier applies to deposit plus bonus. For Canadian accounts, the standard wording (bonus amount) is what we read.

What Counts Toward Wagering

At the four GBL sites, slots count 100%, eligible instant games 10%, non-live roulette 5% and other games 0%. Live dealer games, table games and jackpots can’t be played with an active bonus at all. TonyBet counts slots at 100% and excludes table, crash and live dealer games.

The practical lesson: finish free spin wagering on slots. Switching to roulette at 5% multiplies the required turnover by 20.

The Max Bet Trap

While any bonus is active, the GBL sites cap each bet at C$7, and the cap includes bonus buys and doubled bets. TonyBet’s cap is $10, and feature purchases add to your bet. Breaking the cap even once can be enough for the operator to cancel bonus winnings.

Most bonus-buy features cost far more than C$7, which makes them effectively off-limits until wagering is complete.

One Active Bonus at a Time

The GBL terms allow only one active bonus. If you have free spins waiting while another bonus runs, they queue, and their activation clock can run out. TonyBet’s terms say wagering starts with the first bonus credited.

Plan your deposits so that each card’s spins and wagering finish before you trigger the next.

Withdrawing Before You Finish

You can request a withdrawal before completing wagering, but the bonus and any winnings derived from it are removed. At the GBL sites, unused bonuses can’t be reactivated after a withdrawal request. Cancelling a bonus is allowed at any time.

Keep a separate rule in mind at Rolling Slots, Need for Spin and Wild Tokyo: their T&Cs say you must have bet at least three times your deposit before any withdrawal, and that a player who deposited only to receive free spins cannot withdraw.

Eligible Games for Free Spins and Excluded Slots

Free spins are tied to the slot the operator names, and in October 2026 the named games we could see were mainstream titles such as Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, Blast The Bass and Luck of Tiger. Welcome-pack spins at most sites didn’t name a game on the pages we read; the slot appears in your account once the spins are credited.

What you can control is the game you use to wager the spin winnings afterwards, and the exclusion lists in the bonus terms are long.

The clearest examples come from the daily calendars. Need for Spin’s October 9 bonus used Blast The Bass. Wild Tokyo’s calendar named Majestic Wild Buffalo, Coin Vortex: Hold the Spin, Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, Gates of Olympus 1000, Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Halloween Bonanza, Bonanza Billion Xtreme, Dragon’s Bonanza, Tidal Gold, Devil’s Charm, Burning Chilli X and Frozen Barrel Tavern across the month.

Many of these are high-volatility slots with big bonus rounds. That suits a free spin offer, because the upside comes from rare large hits, but it also means most spin sessions end with a small balance.

Excluded Providers and Titles

The GBL bonus terms list games you can’t play with an active bonus. The list runs to hundreds of titles, including all Red Tiger and Amusnet games, several Big Time Gaming slots (White Rabbit, Extra Chilli) and a long run of NetEnt titles. Golisimo and Kingmaker’s T&C also state that NetEnt games are unavailable to players in Canada.

Open the slot you want to use before you activate a bonus. If it won’t load while the bonus is active, it’s on the list.

Rolling Slots, Need for Spin and Wild Tokyo have a “Bonus Friendly” category in their lobbies, and Winshark has “Play With Bonus”. These filters are the quickest way to find slots that both accept bonus play and count 100%. Use them for wagering spin winnings instead of guessing.

Why Volatility Matters for Spins

At Rolling Slots, Need for Spin, Wild Tokyo and Winshark, a credited bonus waits 48 hours for you to activate it. Once active, you have 5 days to meet the wagering. The terms add that the casino may credit a large bonus in two equal parts 24 hours apart.

Five days is short for a big pack. Activate spins only when you have time to play them over the next few evenings.

Daily Map Spins: 24 Hours and 3 Days

Daily bonus spins move faster: 24 hours to activate and 3 days to complete wagering. At x45 or x50, a 3-day window rules out casual play.

Don’t Save Bonus Rounds for Later

The GBL terms prohibit delaying game rounds, including free spin features and bonus rounds, until after wagering is complete, and making new deposits while free spin features are still pending. TonyBet’s terms say the same. Breaking this rule can cancel all winnings.

To claim free spins at these sites, you register, choose the offer at sign-up or in the cashier, make the qualifying deposit, then activate the spins in your account’s bonus area within the time limit. The steps below follow the process described in the operators’ terms; exact button names vary by site.

Are Free Spins Legal in Canada? Province by Province

Yes, free spins are legal when offered by a casino your province runs or licenses, but the offshore sites on this page are not regulated by any Canadian province, and Ontario players in particular can’t see bonus advertising from regulated operators. Under the Criminal Code, gambling is legal only when “conducted and managed” by a provincial government or under its licence (Criminal Code, s. 207).

Alberta’s regulated iGaming market officially launched on July 13, 2026, with AGLC as regulator and the Alberta iGaming Corporation conducting and managing it. Twenty-two sites were registered at launch, and the minimum age is 18. TonyBet’s own terms already exclude Alberta and Ontario from tonybet.com.

Government Sites in Other Provinces

British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan share PlayNow.com. Quebec has lotoquebec.com, and the Atlantic provinces are served by Atlantic Lottery Corporation. These are the government options in those provinces, with their own promotions and rules.
