Megaways Slots at a Glance
Megaways slots are video slots built on Big Time Gaming’s patented reel system, where every spin changes how many symbols each reel shows, and the number of ways to win changes with it — up to 117,649 ways on a classic six-reel layout.
That single idea explains almost everything about how these games feel. One spin can offer a few hundred ways, the next one tens of thousands. Wins land often in small amounts, while the big hits tend to arrive in bunches during the bonus round.
The facts on this page come from the official game pages of Big Time Gaming and Pragmatic Play, read on October 14, 2026, and from the lobbies and terms of the casinos we compare, read from a Canadian IP in October 2026. Below is the short version.

What Makes a Slot a “Megaways” Slot?
A slot is a Megaways game when it uses BTG’s licensed reel engine: reels of changing height, wins counted across adjacent reels from left to right, and a ways-to-win total that is recalculated on every spin. The word “Megaways” in the title is a trademark, so it only appears on games built under that licence.
Plenty of slots use “ways to win” without being Megaways. A fixed 243-ways or 1,024-ways game always shows the same number of symbols per reel. The moving reel height is the defining feature, not the big number on the paytable.
Who Invented Megaways Slots?
Big Time Gaming invented the mechanic. The studio, which says it “burst onto the scene in 2011”, announced in January 2016 that its new patented MEGAWAYS system would allow up to 117,649 ways to win — at a time when, in BTG’s own words, slots had “only released games with 4096 ways to win”.
The first title was Dragon Born, which BTG called “the world’s first MEGAWAYS slot”. Later in 2016 came Bonanza, the gold-mining slot that BTG describes as the launch that “marked a pivotal moment” for the company. Since then BTG has licensed the mechanic “to numerous developers”, which is why you now see Megaways versions of games from other studios.
Megaways vs Regular Video Slots
The main difference is predictability. A regular five-reel, 20-payline slot pays only when symbols line up on one of 20 fixed lines. A Megaways slot pays when matching symbols sit anywhere on adjacent reels, and the number of possible combinations swings from spin to spin.
| ⚙️ Feature | 🎰 Classic payline slot | 🔢 Fixed ways slot | 🚀 Megaways slot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Symbols per reel | Fixed (often 3) | Fixed (e.g. 3 or 4) | Changes every spin (up to 7 on most titles) |
| How wins are counted | Along set paylines | Adjacent reels, left to right | Adjacent reels, left to right |
| Number of ways / lines | Constant, e.g. 20 or 25 | Constant, e.g. 243 or 1,024 | Variable, up to 117,649 on six reels |
| Cascades after a win | Rare | Sometimes | Very common |
| Usual volatility | Low to high | Medium to high | Mostly high |
If you prefer a steady stream of modest results, a classic payline game is gentler on your balance; if you want the chance of a big bonus round, Megaways is built for that. Our online slots guide covers the other slot types in more depth.
How Megaways Slots Work
Megaways slots work by giving each reel a random height on every spin and multiplying those heights together to get the number of ways to win. BTG’s own description of Dragon Born puts it simply: “Each of the six reels are dynamic, which means there’s a different number of symbols on each reel for every spin.”
Once the reels stop, the game checks for matching symbols on reel 1, then reel 2, then reel 3, and so on. As BTG puts it, “any adjacent symbols from left to right multiply”. You don’t pick lines or ways — every way is always active.
Dynamic Reels: Why the Grid Keeps Changing
On a standard six-reel Megaways game, each reel can show a different number of symbols, up to seven. Taller symbols take up more space, so a reel might show only a couple of big symbols on one spin and seven small ones on the next.
Visually, that’s why the grid looks jagged. A tall reel is good news: more symbols mean more chances to connect with the reels next to it. A short reel acts like a bottleneck for every way that has to pass through it.
How the 117,649 Ways Are Calculated
The total is just the number of symbols on each reel multiplied together. With six reels showing seven symbols each, you get 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 7 = 117,649 — the maximum BTG quotes for Bonanza, Extra Chilli and Dragon Born. Smaller reels give far fewer ways.
| 🎲 Example spin | 📏 Symbols on reels 1–6 | 🔢 Ways to win |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum spin | 7 · 7 · 7 · 7 · 7 · 7 | 117,649 |
| Strong spin | 6 · 7 · 5 · 7 · 6 · 4 | 35,280 |
| Average-looking spin | 4 · 5 · 3 · 6 · 4 · 5 | 7,200 |
| Weak spin | 2 · 3 · 2 · 4 · 3 · 2 | 288 |
| If every reel showed 2 symbols | 2 · 2 · 2 · 2 · 2 · 2 | 64 |
The example rows show why the ways counter jumps around so much: one short reel can cut the total by more than half, even when every other reel is tall.
Left-to-Right Wins on Adjacent Reels
A win needs the same symbol on at least the first three reels in a row, starting from the leftmost reel — the exact minimum depends on the symbol and the game’s paytable. Position on each reel doesn’t matter; adjacency does.
Here’s a quick worked example. Say you land two gold bars on reel 1, one on reel 2 and three on reel 3. That’s 2 × 1 × 3 = six separate winning ways for the same symbol, each paid at the three-of-a-kind value. If reel 4 also had two gold bars, the result would become 12 four-of-a-kind ways.
This is also why a Megaways win often looks bigger on screen than it is. Twelve “ways” of a low-paying symbol can still return less than your stake. Watch the win amount, not the animation.
The Extra Horizontal Reel
Many Megaways titles add a horizontal reel above or below the middle reels. It adds one more symbol to each of those reels, which lifts the ways count, and on several games it spins in the opposite direction to the main reels.
Layouts differ between studios, so check the game’s info screen before you play. It shows the maximum ways, which reels the extra row covers and how the features interact with it.
Games That Break the 117,649 Ceiling
Some titles go past the classic maximum by growing the reels during a feature. BTG’s White Rabbit Megaways is the clearest example from the official pages: it runs at 16,807 ways in the base game, and in free spins, cake symbols “add two extra symbols to the reels, allowing up to 248,832 MEGAWAYS to win”.
Bigger numbers don’t automatically mean bigger payouts. The paytable, multipliers and volatility decide what you can win; the ways count only tells you how many combinations are checked.
Common Megaways Features Explained
Most Megaways slots combine the changing reels with three or four standard features: cascading reels, free spins with a growing multiplier, extra symbols during the bonus and, at many casinos, a bonus buy option. Not every game has all of them, so treat this as a guide to what to look for in the paytable.
Cascading Reels (Tumbles)
After a win, the winning symbols disappear and new symbols drop into the gaps. If the new symbols form another win, the process repeats, all within the same paid spin. Studios call it cascades, tumbles, avalanches or reactions.
Cascades matter more in Megaways than in fixed-reel slots because the reel height can change as symbols drop. A single spin can chain three, four or more wins, which is where much of the excitement — and the volatility — comes from.
Unlimited Win Multipliers
A common Megaways design links cascades to a win multiplier during free spins: each cascade adds to the multiplier, and on some titles the multiplier has no upper cap. That’s what people mean by “unlimited multipliers”.
Read that phrase carefully. “Unlimited” describes the multiplier, not your potential win. Every game still has a maximum payout written in its rules, and most free-spin rounds end long before a multiplier climbs very high. Check whether the multiplier resets after each free spin or carries over for the whole round — it makes a big difference.
Free Spins Triggers and Retriggers
Free spins are usually triggered by scatter symbols, often spelling out a word or landing on several reels at once. Extra scatters during the round typically add more spins.
Because so much of a Megaways game’s return sits inside the bonus round, the base game can feel thin. Expect stretches of small wins and losses between triggers; that’s normal behaviour for the format, not a broken game.
Mystery Symbols and Reel Modifiers
Many titles add modifiers on top of the core engine: mystery symbols that reveal the same symbol, wilds that land on the horizontal reel, or symbols that make reels taller. White Rabbit’s cake symbols, which add two extra symbols to the reels during free spins, are an official example of the last type.
Bonus Buy (Feature Buy)
A bonus buy lets you pay a fixed price — usually a multiple of your stake — to jump straight to the free spins round. Where it’s offered, it shows up as a button on the game screen, and several of the casinos below have a separate “Bonus Buy” category in the lobby.
A bonus buy is a big single bet, not a shortcut to profit. At C$1 per spin, a buy priced at 100× stake costs C$100 in one click, and the round can return far less. Bonus buys are also restricted under many bonus terms: at Need for Spin, Rolling Slots and Wild Tokyo, the C$7 maximum bet while a bonus is active explicitly includes bonus buys.
Watch out:
If you play with an active deposit bonus, a single bonus buy above the casino’s maximum bet can break the bonus terms and put your winnings at risk. Check the max-bet clause before you press the button.
Best Megaways Slots to Try
The five Megaways slots below are a good starting point because their RTP and ways figures are published on the developers’ own pages: three from Big Time Gaming and two Megaways versions from Pragmatic Play. Their published RTPs range from 96.00% to 96.70%.
| 🎰 Slot | 🏢 Developer | 📊 Published RTP | 🔢 Ways to win |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bonanza (Megaways) | Big Time Gaming | 96.00% | Up to 117,649 |
| Extra Chilli (Megaways) | Big Time Gaming | 96.15%–96.41% (by version) | Up to 117,649 |
| White Rabbit Megaways | Big Time Gaming | 96.42% | 16,807 base; up to 248,832 in free spins |
| Big Bass Bonanza Megaways | Pragmatic Play | 96.70% | See in-game info |
| The Dog House Megaways | Pragmatic Play | 96.55% | Up to 117,649 |
These are the developers’ published figures, checked on October 14, 2026; a casino may run a lower-RTP version, so confirm the number in the game’s info screen before you play.
Bonanza Megaways (Big Time Gaming)
Bonanza is the game that turned Megaways into a genre. Released in 2016, it’s set in a gold mine and uses the full 117,649-way engine with a published RTP of 96.00%.
BTG presented it as “another world first innovation” built on the Megaways system. It’s the lowest RTP of the five titles here, but also the one most players compare every other Megaways game against. If you want to understand the format, start with Bonanza in demo mode where the casino offers it.
Extra Chilli Megaways (Big Time Gaming)
Extra Chilli is BTG’s follow-up, with its official page dating from April 2018. It also runs up to 117,649 ways, and BTG lists the RTP as a range, 96.15% to 96.41%, because different versions exist.
That range is a useful reminder: the same game can be set up with different return settings. If two casinos both carry Extra Chilli, the version each one runs might not be identical.
White Rabbit Megaways (Big Time Gaming)
White Rabbit has a published RTP of 96.42% and a different layout from the classic six-reel games: 16,807 ways in the base game. During free spins, cake symbols add two extra symbols to the reels, allowing up to 248,832 ways.
It’s a good pick if you want to see how a reel-growing feature changes the maths in real time, since the ways counter visibly climbs as the cakes land.
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways (Pragmatic Play)
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways has the highest published RTP of this group at 96.70%. Pragmatic Play’s page says money symbols “with values of up to 4,000x can be won in the bonus game”.
Pragmatic’s page doesn’t list a ways-to-win figure for this title, so check the in-game info screen if that number matters to you. For fans of the original fishing slot, this version adds the changing reels to a familiar bonus structure.
The Dog House Megaways (Pragmatic Play)
The Dog House Megaways runs at a published RTP of 96.55% with 117,649 ways. Pragmatic describes the base rule as “Land 3-6 matching symbols across 117,649 win lines to win prizes”.
It shows how far the licence has spread: a non-BTG studio taking one of its own popular games and rebuilding it on the Megaways engine.
Other Megaways Titles Seen in Canadian Lobbies
Beyond the big five, our casino research picked up other Megaways titles by name. Quatro Casino lists Break da Bank Again Megaways among its featured games, and Royal Vegas lists Wolf Blaze Megaways on its Ontario site.
A word of caution on naming: not every popular slot is a Megaways game. Gates of Olympus, for example, uses a different engine, and Legacy of Dead is a classic payline slot. If “Megaways” isn’t in the official title, it isn’t built on BTG’s system.
Pro Tip:
Use the casino’s dedicated Megaways filter rather than searching by name. It lists only licensed Megaways games, so you won’t mistake a look-alike “ways” slot for the real thing.
Best Megaways Casinos for Canadian Players
The best offshore casinos for Megaways slots, by our overall rating, are 22Casino (91/100), Vave (90), Need for Spin (86), Rolling Slots (85), Golisimo (83) and Wild Tokyo (82) — all six have a dedicated Megaways category in the lobby — plus Quatro Casino (73), which lists Megaways titles by name.
We only included sites whose own pages, read in October 2026, show Megaways content. None of them is regulated by a Canadian province. They’re not an option if you live in Ontario or Alberta: players there should use their province’s regulated sites, listed on our Ontario online casinos and Alberta online casinos pages.

Ratings are our overall editorial scores (see how we rate casinos), not a score for Megaways alone; the lobby column shows what each site actually labels as Megaways content.
Best Overall for Megaways: 22Casino
22Casino is our top pick because its lobby splits slots into unusually precise categories. Next to Megaways you’ll find Buy Bonus, Cascade, Hold and Win and Drops & Wins, which makes it easy to find exactly the Megaways mechanics you like.
The site is licensed by Kahnawake (licence No. 01056) and operated by Starsten Ltd. of the British Virgin Islands. CAD is supported. The welcome package headline reads up to C$2,360 + 150 free spins on the homepage, while the promotions page says up to C$2,250 + 150 free spins (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026) — check the cashier for the current figure.

One thing to know before you play: the terms say winnings are paid “within 30 (thirty) calendar days”, which contrasts with the “instant withdrawals” banner on the homepage. Read our 22Casino review for the full picture.
- 24/7/365 live chat support
- 10% extra on crypto deposits
- Self-exclusion up to 5 years
Best for Crypto Megaways Play: Vave
Vave suits players who already hold crypto. Its lobby has Megaways, Bonus Buy and Drops & Wins sections, and accounts run in cryptocurrency — BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, LTC, TRX, USDT and XRP are listed for deposits and withdrawals.
Two details matter for Canadians. First, Vave’s terms say players from Canada “are not allowed to play NYX (NextGen) games”, so part of the catalogue is off-limits. Second, the general bonus rules cap bets at 5 USDT while a casino bonus is active. Vave’s pages call it a licensed platform but don’t name the licence. The headline welcome offer is up to 1.5 BTC (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026).

More on payments and fees is in our Vave review and in our crypto casinos guide.
Need for Spin: Big Lobby With a Megaways Filter
Need for Spin claims 8,000+ games and puts Megaways, Bonus Buy and Bonus Friendly side by side in the lobby. It’s run by GBL Solutions N.V. under a Curaçao GCB licence (OGL/2024/589/0556), and CAD is supported.
The welcome pack headline is up to C$4,500 + 550 free spins (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026), though the three listed deposit offers add up to C$4,100 + 500 spins. With a bonus active, the maximum bet is C$7, including bonus buys — a real limit for Megaways players who like feature buys.

Withdrawal limits rise with loyalty level, from C$750 per day at levels 1–10. Details are in our Need for Spin review.
Rolling Slots: The Largest Game Count
Rolling Slots advertises 15,000+ games, the biggest catalogue in this list, with the same Megaways, Bonus Buy and Bonus Friendly filters as its sister sites. It shares operator and licence with Need for Spin and Wild Tokyo.
The cashier names Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller and bank transfer, with minimum withdrawals of C$15 by bank transfer, C$30 for other methods and C$80 in crypto. The welcome pack headline is up to C$5,800 + 750 free spins (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026), under the same C$7 max-bet rule.

See the Rolling Slots review for withdrawal limits by loyalty level and the fee rules.
- 15,000+ games claimed
- Daily cashback 5%, VIP 7%
- 24/7 live chat and email
Best for Interac Deposits: Golisimo
Golisimo is the pick if you want to fund Megaways play with Interac. Its Canadian payments page lists Interac deposits from C$10 to C$3,000, plus Skrill, MiFinity, bank transfer and a long list of crypto options. The homepage showed 8,387 slots, with Megaways and Bonus buys among the categories.
The site’s terms and footer don’t name the operating company or a gaming licence (checked October 2026). Its default bonus rule is x35 wagering on deposit plus bonus, with winnings from a deposit bonus capped at 10× the bonus. The welcome package headline is 300% up to $3,750 + 300 free spins (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026).

Our Golisimo review covers the full cashier, and the Interac casinos guide compares other sites that take Interac.
- 8,387 Slots & 882 Jackpots
- 15+ Cryptos Incl. Bitcoin
- Daily Cashback Up to 15%
Wild Tokyo: Clear Game-Contribution Rules
Wild Tokyo, the third GBL Solutions site here, stands out for spelling out how games count towards a bonus: slots count 100%, eligible instant games 10% and non-live roulette 5%, while live dealer, table games and jackpots can’t be played with an active bonus. For Megaways fans, that’s the clearest rulebook in this list.
The domain now redirects to wildtokyocasino.com. Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller and Bitcoin are named, and the welcome pack headline is up to C$4,500 + 700 free spins (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026), with the same C$7 max bet.

Read the Wild Tokyo review for its loyalty-based withdrawal limits.
Quatro Casino: Kahnawake Licence, Steep Wagering
Quatro Casino doesn’t have a Megaways filter, but it lists Break da Bank Again Megaways among its featured slots. It’s a Casino Rewards site licensed by Kahnawake (licence 00972), takes Interac deposits and has a C$10 minimum deposit.
The catch is the bonus. Its first-deposit bonus and free-spin winnings carry 200x play-through (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026); the terms’ own example puts a C$100 bonus at about C$20,000 in slot bets. Withdrawals sit pending for 48 hours, the minimum is C$50, and big winners can be limited to C$4,000 a week.
Megaways at Ontario’s Regulated Casinos
If you live in Ontario, Megaways slots are available at regulated sites, and that’s where you should play. In October 2026 the lobbies of 888 Casino, bet365 and Betway each had a Megaways category, and Royal Vegas listed Wolf Blaze Megaways.
These sites are licensed by the AGCO and operate with iGaming Ontario, so disputes go through Ontario’s framework. Players must be 19+ and physically in Ontario. Albertans aged 18+ have their own regulated market since July 13, 2026.
RTP and Volatility in Megaways Slots
Megaways slots usually pair a mid-90s RTP with high volatility: the five titles above publish RTPs between 96.00% and 96.70%, but the way that return is delivered is lumpy, with long quiet stretches and occasional large bonus wins.
What RTP Really Tells You
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money wagered that a game pays back over a very large number of spins. A 96.00% RTP means that, across millions of spins, about C$96 of every C$100 bet returns to players and C$4 is the house’s margin.
It says nothing about your next session. Over 200 spins, results can land far above or far below the RTP. Use RTP to compare games, not to predict outcomes. Our best payout casinos guide explains how RTP fits into choosing a site.
Why the RTP at Your Casino May Differ
Developers publish one RTP, but casinos can sometimes choose among several versions of the same game. Extra Chilli’s official range of 96.15%–96.41% is a visible example. The number that applies to you is the one shown in the game’s own info or help screen at your casino.
Opening that screen takes ten seconds. If it shows a lower RTP than the developer’s page, you might prefer the same game elsewhere or a different title altogether.
Why Most Megaways Games Are High Volatility
Volatility describes how a game’s return is spread out. Megaways games push a large part of their return into free spins with cascading multipliers, so the base game has to pay less to balance the maths. The result: frequent small wins, many losing spins and a few big rounds.
That’s fine if you’re comfortable with swings. If you want longer sessions on a small budget, a lower-volatility slot or a table game such as online blackjack will usually feel calmer.
A Simple Bankroll Example
Say you set aside C$100 for a session. At C$1 per spin you get roughly 100 spins before any wins — possibly not enough to trigger the free spins once. At C$0.40 per spin you get about 250 spins, which gives the bonus round a fairer chance to show up.
| 💰 Session budget | 🎯 Stake per spin | 🔄 Spins before any wins | 🧭 What it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| C$50 | C$0.20 | 250 | Learning a new Megaways game |
| C$100 | C$0.40 | 250 | A full evening with room for a bonus round |
| C$100 | C$1.00 | 100 | Short, high-swing session |
| C$200 | C$2.00 | 100 | Experienced players who accept losing it all |
The lower your stake relative to your budget, the more spins you get to see the game’s features — and the less a cold streak hurts.
Using Casino Bonuses on Megaways Slots
You can play Megaways slots with a casino bonus, and slots usually count fully towards wagering, but three rules decide whether the bonus is worth it: the wagering multiplier, the maximum bet and whether bonus buys are allowed. Here’s how those terms compare at the casinos above, as read in October 2026.
| 🏦 Casino | 🔁 Wagering stated | 🎯 Max bet with bonus | 🛒 Bonus buys |
|---|---|---|---|
| Golisimo | x35 on deposit + bonus (default rule) | See promotion terms | Category in lobby |
| Need for Spin | Welcome pack multiplier not shown | C$7 | Count towards the C$7 limit |
| Rolling Slots | Welcome pack multiplier not shown | C$7 | Count towards the C$7 limit |
| Wild Tokyo | Welcome pack multiplier not shown | C$7 | Count towards the C$7 limit |
| Vave | See bonus terms | 5 USDT | Category in lobby |
| Quatro Casino | 200x (first-deposit bonus) | Bets of 25%+ of bonus count as irregular play | No category seen |
Where the welcome multiplier isn’t shown in the pages we read, ask support or check the bonus card in the cashier before you opt in.
Wagering Maths on a Megaways Session
Take Golisimo’s default rule: x35 on deposit plus bonus. Deposit C$100, get a C$100 bonus, and you need C$7,000 in bets before cashing out. At C$1 per spin that’s 7,000 spins of a high-volatility game — realistic for a daily slot player, a long grind for anyone else.
Quatro’s 200x rule is steeper still. Its own terms estimate about C$20,000 in slot bets on a C$100 bonus. Our wagering requirements guide walks through more examples.
Max Bet Rules and Bonus Buys
The max-bet rule is where Megaways players most often trip up. At the three GBL Solutions sites, the C$7 limit includes bonus buys and bet doubling, so a feature buy at 100× a C$0.20 stake (C$20) already breaks it.
If feature buys are a big part of how you play, it’s often simpler to skip the deposit bonus and play with cash only. You keep full control of your stakes, and any win is yours to withdraw under the normal cashier rules.
Free Spins on Megaways Games
Free spins from a welcome pack are usually tied to specific games chosen by the casino, which may or may not be Megaways titles. Quatro’s seven-day spins, for instance, run on a fixed daily list of games. Check the eligible game before you count on spinning Bonanza for free.
Tips for Playing Megaways Slots
The best way to play Megaways slots is to try them in demo mode first, set a budget and stake size that gives you a few hundred spins, and treat bonus buys as large single bets. These habits help:
- Start in demo mode. Where a casino offers play-for-fun, use it to see how often the free spins trigger before risking money.
- Check the RTP in the game. Compare it with the developer’s figure in our table above.
- Pick a stake that buys time. Aim for 200+ spins per session budget.
- Read the paytable once. Know which symbols pay and how the multiplier behaves.
- Decide on bonus buys in advance. Set a number of buys per session and stop there.
- Use the casino’s limit tools. Deposit and loss limits work better than willpower late at night.
Common Megaways Myths
More ways doesn’t mean a game is “due” to pay, a long losing streak doesn’t make the bonus closer, and spinning faster doesn’t change the odds. Each spin is independent. The only things you control are your stake, the game you pick and when you stop.
Playing Megaways on Mobile
Megaways games are built in HTML5 and run in a phone browser like any modern slot. The jagged grid is tall, so portrait mode on a small screen can make symbols tiny; rotating to landscape usually helps. See our mobile casinos guide for more.
Are Megaways Slots Legal in Canada?
Megaways slots are legal to play in Canada when they’re offered by a provincially run or provincially regulated site; under the Criminal Code, gambling is lawful when it is “conducted and managed” by a province. Each province decides how online gambling works, and there’s no federal online gambling regulator.
The casinos ranked on this page are offshore. They are licensed by Kahnawake or Curaçao, or don’t name a licence — not by a Canadian provincial regulator. If a dispute arises, you deal with the operator and its licensing body, not your province. Residents of Ontario and Alberta should use their province’s regulated sites. Our guide to online gambling laws in Canada covers the details.
| 🗺️ Province / region | 🏛️ Regulated online option | 🔞 Minimum age |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario | AGCO-registered sites under iGaming Ontario, plus OLG.ca | 19+ |
| Alberta | AGLC-registered sites under the Alberta iGaming Corporation (since July 13, 2026) | 18+ |
| British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan | PlayNow.com | 19+ (18+ in Manitoba) |
| Quebec | lotoquebec.com | 18+ |
| Atlantic provinces | Atlantic Lottery Corporation | 19+ |
Whatever the site, check that Megaways titles are in its lobby before you sign up; provincial sites choose their own game mix.
Do You Pay Tax on Megaways Winnings?
Generally no. The CRA treats recreational gambling winnings as windfalls that aren’t taxed. The exception is someone “in the business of gambling”, and interest earned on winnings is taxable.
