Online Craps Canada 2026: Rules, Odds & Where to Play

Online craps in Canada is best played on the pass line (1.41% house edge) or don’t pass (1.36%) with free odds at 0%. Among offshore sites, Kingmaker and Golisimo run a live Baccarat & Dice category.

On October 9, 2026, from a Canadian IP, we read the live menus, bonus terms and cashier pages of twelve offshore casinos. Below: every bet ranked by house edge, free-odds maths, strategies that respect it, and why bonuses rarely suit craps.

None of these sites is regulated by a Canadian province. Ontario and Alberta residents should use their regulated provincial sites. You must be 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec).

Online Craps in Canada: The Short Answer

The best way to play online craps in Canada is to stick to the pass line (1.41% house edge) or don’t pass (1.36%), back it with free odds (0% edge), and ignore the centre-table proposition bets that charge 9% to 17%. Where you play matters less than which bets you make, but it still matters.

On October 9, 2026, from a Canadian IP, we read the live-casino menus, bonus terms, cashier pages and T&Cs of the twelve offshore casinos we cover, and captured their lobbies. We did not open accounts or play for real money. Everything below about specific sites comes from what each operator publishes and from our screenshots.

That reading produced an honest finding: craps is a niche game at offshore casinos, and very few sites make it easy to find. Two of our sites, Kingmaker and Golisimo, run a dedicated live “Baccarat & Dice” category. Several others name craps titles only inside their bonus terms. None of the twelve showed a craps table on the screenshots we captured, so treat any lobby claim as something to confirm with the search bar before you deposit.

Best Live Dice Category: Kingmaker (87/100)

Kingmaker’s Live Casino menu splits its tables into Gold Saloon, Roulette, Blackjack, International Tables, Game Shows, Baccarat & Dice and Poker. Its own site copy invites players to “Play Baccarat, Baccarat and Dice, Poker, or Blackjack”. Canadian Dollar is listed as an account currency.

Best Interac Cashier for Dice Players: Golisimo (83/100)

Golisimo runs the same live menu, including a Baccarat & dice tab, and its Canada/CAD cashier lists Interac deposits from C$10 to C$3,000. Its promotions page also shows a Live Cashback of 25% up to $300, verified on the operator’s site in October 2026.

What We Checked and What We Couldn’t

Kingmaker and Golisimo share one platform and an identical General T&C. The site’s terms and footer don’t name the operating company or a gaming licence (checked October 2026). We did not capture the contents of the Baccarat & Dice tab itself, so we cannot confirm which dice games (craps, sic bo or dice-based game shows) sit inside it today.

None of these casinos is regulated by a Canadian province. If you live in Ontario or Alberta, play on your province’s regulated sites; this guide is for adults elsewhere in Canada weighing offshore options. You must be 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec).

Where Canadians Can Find Online Craps

Craps turned up in two places in our October 2026 review: the live-casino menus of Kingmaker and Golisimo, and the bonus-exclusion lists of Need for Spin, Rolling Slots, Winshark, Wild Tokyo and Vave. Those are very different kinds of evidence, and the difference matters before you deposit.

A live category in a menu tells you the operator has built a home for dice games. A title in a bonus-exclusion list tells you the operator’s terms cover that game, which usually means it is in the catalogue, but it is not the same as seeing the table open in a lobby. Our casino games hub explains how we read lobbies in general.

Kingmaker: A Live Baccarat & Dice Category

Kingmaker is the clearest case. Its Live Casino menu has nine entries, and one of them is “Baccarat & Dice”. The lobby screenshot below, captured from Canada, shows that tab in the category bar right next to Game Shows and Poker. A separate capture of its main live view showed 122 roulette and 124 blackjack tables, so dice is clearly the smaller corner of the studio.

Kingmaker live game shows lobby as seen from Canada in October 2026

The site’s game copy also mentions “Live Baccarat with Dice” and invites players to “Play Baccarat, Baccarat and Dice, Poker, or Blackjack”. What it doesn’t do is list a named craps table. Search “craps” in the lobby after you log in — that is the only way to know whether a full craps layout is live on the day you play.

Under Kingmaker’s General T&C (section 7.7), all live games contribute 10% to bonus wagering and all table and card games contribute 0%. We cover what that means for craps players in the bonus section below. Read our full Kingmaker review for its VIP levels and support channels.

Golisimo: Same Live Menu, Interac Cashier

Golisimo runs on the same platform, and its live menu bar carries the same “Baccarat & dice” tab alongside Gold Saloon, Roulette, Blackjack, International Tables, Game Shows and Poker. Its homepage showed 68 games under Top Live Casino when we visited.

The practical difference is the cashier. Golisimo’s Canada/CAD payments page lists Interac from C$10 to C$3,000, Skrill and Bank Transfer from C$20 to C$7,800, MiFinity from C$20 to C$3,750, and a long list of crypto options from C$35 (Bitcoin from C$90). For a craps player who wants a small Interac deposit and no bonus, that is a clean set-up. See our Interac casino guide for how these limits compare.

Golisimo’s Live Cashback (25% up to $300) and Daily Cashback (15% up to $600) appear on its promotions page, verified on the operator’s site in October 2026. Whether live dice tables count toward the Live Cashback wasn’t stated on the promotion card we read, so check its own rules first. More in our Golisimo review.

Need for Spin and Its Sister Sites

Need for Spin, Rolling Slots, Winshark and Wild Tokyo are run by GBL Solutions N.V. under Curaçao GCB licence OGL/2024/589/0556 and share one bonus-terms framework. That framework lists games “not available for playing with an active bonus”, and the list names Evolution’s First Person Craps, Play’n GO’s Craps, Nucleus’s Craps and MrSlotty’s Wild Craps.

That is useful but limited evidence. It tells you these craps titles fall under the group’s terms; it does not prove that each title is switched on in each brand’s Canadian lobby. Need for Spin’s Live Casino screenshot does show a “Baccarat & Dice” tab in its category bar, but we didn’t capture what is inside it. GBL Solutions N.V. is licensed by the Curaçao GCB, not by a Canadian provincial regulator.

Vave: Two Craps Titles in the Terms

Vave’s casino bonus terms list games excluded from bonus promotions, and that list includes “1×2 Gaming: Craps” and a “Craps” title under Quickfire. Its terms also say table games and live dealer games do not count towards bonus wagering. Like the others here, Vave is an offshore site, not regulated by a Canadian province.

Provincial Sites

If you live in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Quebec or the Atlantic provinces, your government-run or provincially regulated site is the first place to look for craps. We didn’t review their table-game lobbies for this page, so open their table or live sections and search for craps directly. Ontario players can start with our Ontario casino guide.

How Online Craps Works

Online craps is the same dice game you’d find at a casino table: two six-sided dice are rolled, and you bet on the total, on a sequence of totals, or on specific combinations. The only differences online are who throws the dice — software or a live dealer — and how fast the rounds come.

The Shooter, the Two Dice and the 36 Combinations

Two dice produce 36 equally likely combinations. Totals in the middle are more common because more combinations make them: seven can be rolled six ways (1-6, 2-5, 3-4 and the reverses), while 2 and 12 can each be rolled only one way. Everything in craps, from payouts to house edge, flows from this table.

🎲 Total🔢 Ways to Roll📊 Probability⚖️ Odds Against

325.56%17 to 1

9411.11%8 to 1
1038.33%11 to 1
1125.56%17 to 1
1212.78%35 to 1

Memorise one line of that table if nothing else: seven is the most likely total, at one roll in six.

The Come-Out Roll

Each round starts with a come-out roll. If it lands on 7 or 11 (a “natural”), pass-line bets win at even money. If it lands on 2, 3 or 12 (“craps”), pass-line bets lose. Any other total — 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 — becomes the point.

On the come-out, you win immediately 22.22% of the time (8 of 36 combinations), lose immediately 11.11% of the time (4 of 36), and set a point the other 66.67% of the time. That early edge for the pass bettor is what makes the later phase tilt the other way.

The Point Phase

Once a point is set, the dice keep rolling until the point repeats (pass wins) or a 7 appears (pass loses). Every other total is irrelevant to the pass line, though it may settle other bets on the layout.

How likely you are to make the point depends on the number. A 6 or 8 comes before a 7 about 45.45% of the time, a 5 or 9 40% of the time, and a 4 or 10 only 33.33% of the time. Add it all up and the pass line wins 244 times in 495, or 49.29%, which is where the 1.41% house edge comes from.

RNG Craps vs Live Dealer Craps

RNG craps is software: a random number generator picks each roll and an animation shows the dice. Rounds go as fast as you click, there’s no betting timer, and you can usually play the free demo first. The titles named in the GBL group’s terms, such as Play’n GO’s Craps, are this type.

Live craps streams real dice from a studio. A dealer or mechanical shaker throws, a timer gives you a window to bet, and results are read off the dice on camera. Evolution’s First Person Craps sits in between: it is an RNG game presented in the visual style of the provider’s live tables. If you like live tables generally, our live casino guide covers how studios work.

Is Online Craps Rigged?

A properly licensed craps game doesn’t need to be rigged; the payouts already favour the house on every bet except free odds. Over enough rolls, the casino profits from that gap without touching the dice.

What you can control is where you play. On live tables you watch the dice. On RNG tables you rely on the provider’s certification and the casino’s licence, which is why we list the licence status of every site above. Read how we rate casinos for the weight we give licensing.

Craps Bets and House Edge, Ranked

Craps has the widest spread of house edges in the casino: from 0% on free odds to 16.67% on Any 7, all on the same table. The bets with the lowest edge are also the simplest ones, which is the single most useful thing a new player can learn.

The table below ranks the standard bets by house edge. Figures are for standard online craps rules; a few games pay the field 12 at 2 to 1 instead of 3 to 1, so check the paytable in the game’s help screen.

Read that table from the bottom up and you can see how a craps session goes wrong: the loud, high-paying bets in the centre of the layout cost six to twelve times more than the pass line.

Pass Line

The pass line is the bet the whole game is built around. You win at even money on a come-out 7 or 11, lose on 2, 3 or 12, and if a point is set, win if the point repeats before a 7. The house edge is 1.41%, so the expected loss on a C$10 pass bet is C$0.14.

You can only place a pass bet before the come-out. Once a point is set, the bet is locked in until it resolves, which makes sense: after the come-out, the bet is at a disadvantage you agreed to in exchange for the come-out advantage.

Don’t Pass

Don’t pass is the mirror bet. You win on a come-out 2 or 3, lose on 7 or 11, and the 12 is a push (a tie, often labelled “bar 12”). After a point is set, you win if a 7 comes before the point. The house edge is 1.36%, a fraction lower than the pass line.

Some players call it “betting against the shooter”, and at a physical table it can feel antisocial. Online, nobody hears you. The bigger practical issue is psychological: you lose on the come-out more often than you win, then win more of the points.

Come and Don’t Come

Come and don’t come work exactly like pass and don’t pass, but you place them after a point is set. The next roll acts as that bet’s own come-out. If it’s a 6, for example, your come bet travels to the 6 box and wins if a 6 appears before a 7.

The house edges are the same: 1.41% for come, 1.36% for don’t come. Their purpose is to put more money on low-edge bets during a long point phase without touching the expensive centre bets. You can also back each come bet with free odds.

Free Odds: The 0% Bet

Free odds is an extra bet you place behind a pass, don’t pass, come or don’t come bet once a point is set. It pays at true odds, so the casino has no edge on it at all. It is the only bet in the online casino with a 0% house edge.

It doesn’t appear as a printed box on most layouts, so new players miss it. In RNG games, you usually add it by clicking just behind your pass-line chip after the point is marked. The game sets a maximum, often expressed as a multiple such as 3-4-5x or 5x; the next section shows why that multiple matters.

Place Bets

A place bet wins if your chosen number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) rolls before a 7. Unlike the pass line, you can place it any time and usually take it down. Place 6 and place 8 pay 7 to 6 for a 1.52% edge, almost as good as the pass line.

The other numbers are worse. Place 5 or 9 pays 7 to 5 (4.00%), and place 4 or 10 pays 9 to 5 (6.67%). Bet place 6 and 8 in multiples of C$6 so the 7:6 payout works out to whole dollars: a C$6 bet wins C$7.

Buy and Lay Bets

A buy bet is a place bet paid at true odds in exchange for a 5% commission (the “vig”). On the 4 and 10, if the vig is charged only when you win, the edge drops to 1.67%, far better than the 6.67% place bet. If the vig is charged up front, the edge is 4.76%, which is still better.

A lay bet is the opposite: you bet a number will lose to the 7, at true odds minus the vig. Lay bets on 4 and 10 are the cheapest of them. Online games differ on how they charge commission, so read the help screen before you rely on either.

Field Bet

The field is a one-roll bet that the next total will be 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. It looks generous because it covers seven numbers, but those numbers add up to only 16 of the 36 combinations. The missing ones, 5, 6, 7 and 8, are the most common totals.

If the 12 pays 3 to 1 (and the 2 pays 2 to 1), the edge is 2.78%. If both pay 2 to 1, it doubles to 5.56%. Because it resolves on every roll, the field also burns through your bankroll faster than its percentage suggests.

Big 6 and Big 8

Big 6 and Big 8 win at even money if the 6 (or 8) rolls before a 7. That is the same event as a place 6 or 8, which pays 7 to 6. Paying 1:1 for something worth 7:6 raises the edge to 9.09%. There is no reason to use them when the place bet is available.

Hardways

A hardway bet wins if a number rolls as a pair (2-2 for hard 4, 3-3 for hard 6, 4-4 for hard 8, 5-5 for hard 10) before it rolls “easy” or a 7 appears. Hard 6 and hard 8 pay 9 to 1 for a 9.09% edge; hard 4 and hard 10 pay 7 to 1 for 11.11%.

Proposition Bets: Any 7, Any Craps and Horn

Proposition bets sit in the centre of the layout and almost all are one-roll bets. Any 7 pays 4 to 1 on a one-in-six chance, for a 16.67% edge — the worst standard bet on the table. Any Craps (2, 3 or 12) pays 7 to 1 for 11.11%, and so do Yo-eleven and Ace-Deuce at 15 to 1.

The single-number bets on 2 or 12 pay 30 to 1 on a 35-to-1 shot, for 13.89%. The Horn bet splits one stake across 2, 3, 11 and 12 and lands at around 12.5%. Treat all of them as entertainment priced at eight to twelve times the pass line.

Free Odds Explained With Real Numbers

Free odds pays exactly what the risk is worth, so adding it to a pass bet lowers the house edge on your combined stake. The bigger the odds you take, the closer your total edge gets to zero. The first table shows what each odds bet pays and how likely it is to win.

🎯 Point📈 Chance Point Wins💵 Take Odds (Pass) Pays🔄 Lay Odds (Don’t Pass) Pays
4 or 1033.33%2 to 11 to 2
5 or 940.00%3 to 22 to 3
6 or 845.45%6 to 55 to 6

Because the payouts mirror the probabilities exactly, the free odds part of your stake has no house edge, whichever side you play.

How Much Odds Should You Take?

The house edge on the pass line stays 1.41% of the flat bet, but you’re putting more money in play at 0%. Measured across the total amount you wager, the combined edge falls quickly as the odds multiple rises.

🎲 Odds Offered🏠 Combined Edge (Pass + Odds)💡 What It Means
No odds1.41%Flat pass line only
1x0.85%Edge cut by about 40%
2x0.61%Lower than any slot or roulette bet
3-4-5x0.37%Max 3x on 4/10, 4x on 5/9, 5x on 6/8
5x0.33%Under a third of a percent
10x0.18%Only if the game’s limits allow it

Remember what the table does not say: your expected loss in dollars stays about C$0.14 per C$10 pass bet, while the money you risk goes up. Take only as much odds as your bankroll can absorb.

Here is a worked example. You bet C$10 on the pass line and a 6 is set as the point. You add C$25 in free odds (5x on 6/8). If the 6 rolls first, the pass bet pays C$10 and the odds pay C$30 at 6 to 5, for C$40 profit. If a 7 rolls first, you lose C$35.

Laying Odds on Don’t Pass

On the don’t side you lay odds: you risk more to win less, because once a point is set the 7 is the favourite. Laying C$20 against a 4 or 10 wins C$10; laying C$15 against a 5 or 9 wins C$10; laying C$12 against a 6 or 8 wins C$10.

The edge on the combined don’t pass and lay-odds stake falls to about 0.68% with single odds and 0.34% with triple odds. It’s the lowest-cost way to play craps, at the price of risking more than you can win on every point.

Pro Tip:
In RNG craps, the odds bet is often a separate click zone behind your pass-line chip and only appears after a point is set. If you can’t find it, open the game’s help screen before you play for money: a pass line without odds is leaving the best bet in the game on the table.

Online Craps Strategy That Respects the Math

No craps strategy can beat the house edge, because no combination of negative-expectation bets adds up to a positive one. What a good strategy does is keep your money on the cheapest bets and set limits before you start. The approaches below do that; the systems in the last subsection don’t.

Strategy 1: Pass Line Plus Odds

Bet the pass line on every come-out, then take the maximum odds you’re comfortable with once a point is set. That’s it. It keeps nearly all your action at 1.41% or 0%, and it’s the easiest way to play at a fast RNG table without making mistakes.

A sensible unit for a C$300 session bankroll is C$5 on the pass line with up to 2x odds. Your largest single exposure is C$15, so you can sit through a cold streak of a dozen or more losing points before you hit your limit.

Strategy 2: The Don’t Side

The don’t pass with laid odds has the lowest combined edge in the game. The trade-off is that you lose on the come-out 22.22% of the time (7 or 11) and win only 8.33% (2 or 3), then make up the difference once a point is set.

It suits patient players who are comfortable risking C$20 to win C$10 on a 4 or 10. If that feels wrong, stick to the pass line; the difference in house edge is only 0.05 percentage points.

Strategy 3: Three-Point Molly

The three-point molly is pass line plus odds, followed by two come bets with odds, so you always have up to three numbers working. Every chip is still on a 1.41% or 0% bet. It gives more action per roll without moving you to the expensive centre bets.

The catch is exposure: with three bets and odds on each, a single 7 during the point phase can take all of them at once. Halve your unit size if you switch from Strategy 1 to the molly.

Place 6 and 8 for Extra Action

If you want more numbers working, place 6 and 8 (C$6 each) are the next-best choice at 1.52%. Some players combine a pass line with place 6 and 8 when the point is 4, 5, 9 or 10. It keeps your blended edge close to 1.5%, which is still far below the field or props.

Systems That Don’t Work

Progressions such as the Martingale (double after a loss) don’t change the house edge; they change the shape of your losses, swapping many small wins for occasional large losses. Online table maximums and your own bankroll stop the progression long before it “has to” win.

The Iron Cross (field plus place 5, 6 and 8) is sold as a strategy that wins on every roll except 7. It does lose only on a 7, but the maths is unkind. A C$22 Iron Cross (C$5 field, C$5 on the 5, C$6 each on the 6 and 8) costs about C$0.25 per roll with a 3:1 field 12, roughly 1.1% of the money in action every roll, against about 0.42% per roll for a pass line. “Wins on most rolls” isn’t the same as “wins money”.

Watch out:
No betting system, software or “pattern” can predict the next roll of fair dice. If a site or video promises a craps system that guarantees profit, treat that as a reason to stop reading, not a reason to deposit.

Set Your Session Bankroll First

Decide two numbers before you sit down: the most you’re willing to lose (your stop-loss) and the point at which you’ll walk away ahead (your win goal). Online sessions move faster than physical tables, so pick a time limit too.

A practical rule is to keep each pass-plus-odds bet at 2–5% of your session bankroll. With C$200, that’s C$4 to C$10 of total exposure per point. Kingmaker and Golisimo, for example, handle breaks and self-exclusion through their support team; see our responsible gambling guide.

What Online Craps Really Costs Per Session

The real cost of craps is the house edge multiplied by the total amount you bet, and the bet you choose changes that cost more than anything else. The table assumes 100 bets of C$10 each, so C$1,000 in total action, and shows the average loss over the long run.

🎯 Bet Type🏠 House Edge💸 Expected Loss on C$1,000 Action📉 Compared With Pass Line

Any 716.67%C$166.67About 12x

These are averages, not predictions; any single session can swing far above or below them. But over months, the column you pick is the bill you pay.

A Worked Session Example

Say you play 60 pass-line decisions at C$10, adding 2x odds whenever a point is set. Your flat action is C$600, with an expected loss of about C$8.50. The odds bets add a few hundred dollars of action at 0%, so they raise your swings but not your average cost.

Now swap that for 60 one-roll Any 7 bets at C$10. Your action is the same C$600, but the expected loss is C$100. Same time at the table, same stake size, more than ten times the cost. That’s the most important trade-off in craps, and it’s entirely in your hands.

Speed Matters Online

RNG craps resolves a bet as fast as you click, so you can make far more decisions per hour than at a live table with a betting timer. More decisions at the same edge means a higher hourly cost. If you switch from live to RNG, lower your stake or set a time limit to keep the hourly cost where you planned.

Casino bonuses are a poor fit for craps at every site we checked: the terms either block table and live games while a bonus is active or count them at 0% to 10% towards wagering. For most craps players, the best bonus is no bonus. Here’s what each terms set says, verified on the operators’ sites in October 2026.

Kingmaker and Golisimo: 0% for Tables, 10% for Live

The shared General T&C (section 7.7) says all table and card games contribute 0% to wagering and all live games 10%. Unless a specific promotion says otherwise, a deposit bonus carries wagering of x35 on deposit plus bonus, with maximum winnings of 10 times the bonus (section 7.16). Individual bets above C$150 are not allowed before wagering is met.

Run the numbers on a C$100 deposit with a C$100 bonus. You’d need C$7,000 in wagering. On RNG craps, counted as a table game at 0%, that never clears. On live tables at 10%, it takes C$70,000 of live bets. At the pass line’s 1.41%, that much action costs about C$987 on average — nearly ten times the bonus.

Kingmaker’s homepage headline is “$750 + 50 chances to win $1,000,000”, and Golisimo’s casino welcome package is 300% up to $3,750 + 300 FS. The full per-offer terms weren’t part of what we captured, so the default rules above are what apply unless each offer’s own page says otherwise. Our wagering requirements guide explains the calculation step by step.

Need for Spin and Sister Sites: Tables Locked

The GBL Solutions terms used by Need for Spin, Rolling Slots, Winshark and Wild Tokyo say live dealer games, table games and jackpots are not available for play with an active bonus. They also list First Person Craps by name among the games unavailable with an active bonus, and cap bets at C$7 while a bonus is active.

In practice, if you accept a welcome bonus at one of these four sites, you can’t play craps until the bonus is wagered, forfeited or expired. Decline the offer in the cashier if craps is the reason you’re signing up.

Vave: Table and Live Games Don’t Count

Vave’s casino bonus terms state that slots contribute 100% and that table games and live dealer games do not count towards bonus wagering. Its excluded-games list also names two craps titles. Any welcome bonus there is a slots bonus, not a craps one.

When Cashback Beats a Bonus

Cashback returns a share of your net losses, so it doesn’t penalise low-edge games the way contribution tables do. Golisimo’s promotions page lists a Live Cashback of 25% up to $300 and a Daily Cashback of 15% up to $600, verified on the operator’s site in October 2026.

If your live dice play were eligible and you ended a period down C$200, a 25% Live Cashback would return C$50. Check each cashback’s own rules for eligible games and any wagering on the returned amount before you count on it. Our cashback bonus guide covers how these offers usually work.

Pro Tip:
If a cashier pre-selects a welcome bonus by default, untick it before you pay when you plan to play craps. A deposit without a bonus keeps live and table games open and your winnings free of wagering.

Live Dealer Craps Online

Live craps puts real dice in front of a camera, with a dealer running the table and a betting timer between throws. It’s slower than RNG craps, which keeps your hourly cost down, and it lets you watch every roll land.

What a Live Dice Table Looks Like

A live craps stream usually shows the dice being thrown or released mechanically into a bowl or onto a felt, a close-up of the result, and a digital betting layout on your screen. You place chips during the countdown, the round locks, and the dice are thrown. Results are read automatically and paid instantly.

Most live dice products also offer statistics panels showing recent rolls. They’re interesting to watch but have no predictive value: fair dice have no memory, so a run of sevens doesn’t make the next seven more or less likely.

Live Craps vs RNG Craps: Which Should You Pick?

Pick live craps if you want the social feel, a slower pace and the reassurance of physical dice. Pick RNG craps if you want lower stakes, the option to play a free demo first, and full control over speed. The house edge on each bet is the same in both; the difference is how many bets you make per hour.

If you’re new to dice games, start with an RNG demo to learn where the pass, come and odds zones sit on the layout. Then move to a live table once you’re placing bets without hesitation. Other live tables in the same studios are compared in our online baccarat and online blackjack guides.

Other Dice Games You’ll See

Dice categories online often hold games that aren’t craps: sic bo uses three dice and has its own very different paytable, and dice-based game shows add random multipliers to simple total bets. Don’t assume a “dice” tile is craps; open the game’s rules panel and look for pass line, come and odds before you place a bet.

Playing Craps on Mobile

Online craps works on a phone browser, but the layout is dense, so a larger screen or landscape mode makes it much easier to hit the right betting zone. Kingmaker and Golisimo both carry a “Create Shortcut” link in their footers for quicker access to the mobile site.

On a small screen, the expensive centre bets are often the easiest to tap by mistake. Before your first real-money bet, place a few chips in the demo and check which zone each tap lands in. Turn off any “repeat bet” or “auto-rebet” option until you’re sure it’s repeating what you intended.

Online craps is legal in Canada when it’s offered by or under licence from your province. Under section 207(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, gambling is lawful only when “conducted and managed” by a provincial government or under its licence. There is no federal online gambling regulator; each province decides.

Ontario and Alberta

Ontario runs a regulated iGaming market, launched April 4, 2022, overseen by the AGCO and conducted by iGaming Ontario; players must be 19+ and physically in Ontario. Alberta’s regulated market launched on July 13, 2026, with AGLC as regulator; the age there is 18+. If you live in either province, use your provincial regulated sites rather than the offshore casinos on this page.

Other Provinces

British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan use PlayNow.com, Quebec has lotoquebec.com, and the Atlantic provinces have Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s online offering. Offshore casinos licensed in Curaçao, Kahnawake or elsewhere also accept players from many provinces, but they are not regulated by your province. If a dispute arises, you deal with the operator and its licensing body, not your province.

Our full guide to online gambling laws in Canada goes province by province. The legal age is 19+ in most provinces and territories, and 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

Do You Pay Tax on Craps Winnings?

Recreational gambling winnings are generally treated as windfalls in Canada and are not taxed. The exception is someone considered to be in the business of gambling, which can make winnings taxable income. Interest you earn on winnings is taxable. If your situation is unusual, ask a tax professional.

Craps Terms Every Canadian Player Should Know

Craps has its own vocabulary, and online layouts use it without explanation. These are the terms you’ll see most often in a game’s help screen.

  • Come-out roll: the first roll of a round, before a point is set.
  • Point: the 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 set on the come-out; it must repeat before a 7 for pass bets to win.
  • Natural: a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll.
  • Craps: a 2, 3 or 12 on the come-out roll.
  • Seven-out: a 7 rolled during the point phase, ending the round.
  • Free odds: the 0%-edge bet placed behind a pass, don’t pass, come or don’t come bet.
  • Bar 12: the rule that makes a come-out 12 a push for don’t pass and don’t come.
  • Vig: the 5% commission on buy and lay bets.
  • Hardway: a 4, 6, 8 or 10 rolled as a pair.
  • One-roll bet: a bet settled on the very next roll, such as the field or Any 7.
  • Working / off: whether a bet is active on the next roll; some bets are “off” on the come-out by default.

Common Online Craps Mistakes to Avoid

Most expensive craps sessions come from a handful of avoidable habits rather than bad luck. Each of the mistakes below shifts money from 1.41% bets to bets costing several times more.

Skipping the Free Odds

Playing the pass line without odds is the most common mistake online, partly because the odds zone isn’t printed on the layout. Taking even 1x odds cuts your combined edge from 1.41% to 0.85%.

Chasing Losses With Proposition Bets

After a cold streak, the 30 to 1 and 15 to 1 payouts in the centre look like a quick way back. They aren’t: they carry 11% to 17% edges and resolve in one roll. Lower your stake or stop; don’t raise the edge.

Taking a Bonus You Can’t Clear

As the bonus section shows, accepting a welcome offer at most of these sites either locks you out of craps or demands tens of thousands in live wagering. Read the contribution table before you accept anything.

Using Live-Table Stakes at RNG Speed

A stake that feels fine at a slow live table can become an expensive hour at an RNG table that resolves a bet every few seconds. Match your stake to the speed of the game, not the other way round.

Playing Craps Responsibly

Craps is fast, social and easy to over-play, so set a deposit limit, a loss limit and a time limit before you start. Use the tools each site offers: Kingmaker and Golisimo handle self-exclusion through their support email, while Need for Spin lists personal limits, Take a Break periods and Reality Check reminders on its responsible gaming page.

If gambling stops being fun, free confidential help is available in every province. The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction keeps the full list of provincial gambling helplines, including ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600), the BC Problem Gambling Help Line (1-888-795-6111) and Quebec’s Gambling: Help and Referral (1-800-461-0140). Our responsible gambling page covers warning signs and tools in more detail.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Start with your provincial site if you live in Ontario or Alberta. Among offshore casinos we checked in October 2026, Kingmaker and Golisimo run a live Baccarat & Dice category, and Need for Spin’s bonus terms name First Person Craps. Search the lobby for craps before depositing.

Free odds, placed behind a pass, don’t pass, come or don’t come bet, pays true odds with a 0% house edge. Among flat bets, don’t pass (1.36%) and pass line (1.41%) are cheapest, followed by place 6 or 8 at 1.52%.

Any 7, which pays 4 to 1 on a one-in-six chance for a 16.67% house edge. Other centre bets, such as Any Craps, Yo, hardway 4 and 10, and the 30 to 1 bets on 2 or 12, carry 11% to 14%.

Rarely. Kingmaker and Golisimo count table games at 0% and live games at 10%; Need for Spin and its sister sites block live and table games while a bonus is active; Vave doesn’t count them. See our wagering guide.

A properly licensed craps game doesn’t need to be: the payouts already give the house an edge on every bet except free odds. Live tables let you watch real dice; RNG games rely on certification and the casino’s licence, so check who licenses the site.

Generally no. Recreational gambling winnings are treated as windfalls and aren’t taxed in Canada. People considered to be in the business of gambling can be taxed, and any interest earned on winnings is taxable.
