Online Blackjack Canada 2026: Best Sites, Rules & Strategy

The best online blackjack sites for Canadian players are Need for Spin, Wild Tokyo, Kingmaker, 22Casino, Vave, Golisimo, Rolling Slots and BC.Game, each with a dedicated blackjack lobby. Choose 3:2 tables where the dealer stands on soft 17 for a house edge near 0.5%.

All eight are offshore casinos, not regulated by a Canadian province, and not an option for Ontario or Alberta residents. We checked their lobbies and terms from a Canadian IP in October 2026.

Below: a full basic strategy chart, the rules that raise the house edge, side bets, live dealer tables and why most bonuses exclude blackjack.

Best Online Blackjack Sites in Canada: Quick Answer

For online blackjack in Canada, our shortlist is Need for Spin, Wild Tokyo, Kingmaker, 22Casino, Vave, Golisimo, Rolling Slots and BC.Game. Each one shows a dedicated blackjack section, from RNG tables to live dealers. All eight are offshore sites, not regulated by any Canadian province, so they are not an option if you live in Ontario or Alberta.

We built this list by reading each operator’s game lobby, bonus terms, T&Cs, cashier page and responsible-gaming page from a Canadian IP on October 9, 2026, and by capturing the blackjack lobbies you will see in the screenshots below. We did not open accounts or deposit, so nothing here is a claim about payout speed from our own play.

The rest of the page is the part that actually saves you money: how the game works, which table rules raise the house edge, a full basic strategy chart for multi-deck games where the dealer stands on soft 17, what side bets cost you, and why most welcome bonuses are a poor fit for blackjack players.

How We Picked These Blackjack Casinos

A good blackjack casino is one where the tables are easy to find, the rules are printed where you can read them, and the bonus terms don’t quietly punish table play. That last point matters more for blackjack than for any other game, because most bonus terms either ban it or count it at 0%.

  • Blackjack depth: a separate blackjack filter in the lobby, with both live and RNG tables visible.
  • Studio variety: tables from several live studios, not one provider repeated.
  • Honest bonus terms: clear statements of whether table and live games can be played with an active bonus.
  • Transparency: operator name and licence printed on the site, plus self-exclusion and limit tools.

Our overall scores combine those points with payments, mobile play and support. The full method sits on our how we rate casinos page.

Blackjack Lobbies Compared at a Glance

The table below lists what we could actually see in each blackjack lobby on October 9, 2026, and the licence each site prints. Titles change often, so treat the examples as a snapshot rather than a guarantee.

If table variety is your priority, Golisimo and 22Casino show the largest blackjack catalogues; if you want a published licence number, look first at 22Casino, BC.Game and the three Curaçao sites.

Where to Play Online Blackjack: Our Picks Reviewed

Each site below earns its place for a specific reason, from live table variety to cashback that applies to live games. Every one is licensed outside Canada: if a dispute arises, you deal with the operator and its licensing body, not your province, and players in Ontario and Alberta should use their province’s regulated sites instead.

Best for Live Blackjack Variety: Need for Spin

Need for Spin puts blackjack one click away: the Live Casino menu has its own Blackjack tab next to Roulette, Baccarat & Dice and Poker. In the screenshot below, the first two rows alone mix five studios — Imagine Live, Live Vegas, Winfinity, Jacktop and ICONIC21 — which means different dealers, table limits and rule sets in one place.

Titles visible include VIP Blackjack 3, BlackJack De Luxe, Venice VIP Blackjack 3, Oasis Blackjack 2, Gravity Blackjack and Grand Bonus Blackjack. The site is run by GBL Solutions N.V. under Curaçao GCB licence OGL/2024/589/0556 and works in Canadian dollars, with minimum withdrawals of C$15 by bank transfer, C$30 for other methods and C$80 in crypto.

The catch for blackjack fans is the bonus: Need for Spin’s bonus terms say live dealer and table games can’t be played while a bonus is active. Play blackjack with cash only, and keep the welcome pack for slots if you take it at all.

Wild Tokyo: Same Studios, Clear Bonus Weighting

Wild Tokyo shares its operator and much of its live line-up with Need for Spin, and its Blackjack tab shows a similar mix. Alongside the live tables, the screenshot includes Multihand Blackjack Pro 2 from BGaming — an RNG game, useful if you want to practise basic strategy at your own pace.

Its bonus terms spell out the weighting most sites leave vague: slots count 100%, eligible instant games 10%, non-live roulette 5% and every other game 0%. Live dealer and table games are not playable with an active bonus. The licence is the same Curaçao GCB OGL/2024/589/0556, and the old wildtokyo.com address now redirects to wildtokyocasino.com.

Kingmaker: Single-Deck and Classic RNG Tables

Kingmaker’s blackjack page stands out for classic rule variants, not just live studios. The screenshot shows Single Deck Blackjack, American Blackjack and European Blackjack next to live tables such as Blackjack 7, Blackjack Monaco 4 and VIP Blackjack Venice 4. The American Blackjack table art is printed with “Blackjack pays 3 to 2”.

Kingmaker blackjack tables lobby as seen from Canada in October 2026

Two facts to weigh. First, the site’s terms and footer don’t name the operating company or a gaming licence (checked October 2026). Second, its T&C state that NetEnt games are unavailable in Canada, so any NetEnt blackjack you may know from elsewhere won’t load here. Its default deposit-bonus rule is x35 on deposit plus bonus, with withdrawals capped at 10 times the bonus.

Best for RNG Blackjack Choice: 22Casino

22Casino has the deepest catalogue of digital blackjack we saw. Its lobby has a Blackjack filter under Slots and a long grid of variants: Neo Blackjack tables (Venice, Monaco, Bar), Instant Blackjack, Classic Blackjack VIP, Blackjack Joker, Blackjack Prime, Classic Blackjack with Pair & Poker Pays, and Surrender Multihand Blackjack.

The homepage also lists live tables with their limits, for example Russian Blackjack and Monaco Neo Blackjack at 5–1,000 EUR per hand (limits are shown in euros there). 22Casino is run by Starsten Ltd. under Kahnawake licence 01056 and offers deposit limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion for up to five years.

One point to note before you deposit: its terms allow winnings to be paid “within 30 (thirty) calendar days”, even though the homepage banner promises instant withdrawals.

Bonus: Up to C$2,360 + 150 FS
  • 24/7/365 live chat support
  • 10% extra on crypto deposits

Vave: Crypto Blackjack With Strict Bonus Rules

Vave suits players who already hold crypto. Its live casino has a dedicated Blackjack tab, shown below, and the site runs on crypto balances — BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, LTC, TRX, USDT and XRP — rather than a Canadian-dollar wallet. Withdrawal requests are typically processed in 10 minutes, according to its FAQ, though some options take up to three days.

Vave blackjack tables lobby as seen from Canada in October 2026

The terms are blunt about blackjack and bonuses. Table and live dealer games do not count toward bonus wagering, they earn no VIP points, and the T&C list “leaving large bets on the table, for example in blackjack” as a prohibited bonus strategy. Vave also notes that players from Canada can’t play NYX (NextGen) games.

Best for Live Blackjack Cashback: Golisimo

Golisimo has the biggest live blackjack line-up on this list: its live casino lobby showed “See all (134)” in the Blackjack row on October 9, 2026. Titles in view include Blackjack Monaco 1, VIP Blackjack 1 and 5, Gold Saloon Super Stake Blackjack VIP and Gold Saloon Super Boost, whose felt reads “Blackjack pays 3 to 2”.

Golisimo live casino lobby as seen from Canada in October 2026

What makes it interesting for blackjack is the Live Cashback of 25% up to $300 on its casino promotions page (verified on the operator’s site in October 2026). Cashback returns part of your net losses rather than locking your deposit behind wagering, which suits a low-edge game. Its payments page lists Interac at $10–$3,000 per deposit.

As with Kingmaker, which runs on the same platform, Golisimo’s terms and footer don’t name the operating company or a gaming licence (checked October 2026). Weigh that against the cashback.

Rolling Slots: Live Tables Behind a Slots Brand

Despite the name, Rolling Slots has a proper Blackjack tab in its live section, featuring Ultimate Blackjack and VIP Blackjack 7 from Imagine Live and Gravity Blackjack from ICONIC21. It’s the third GBL Solutions N.V. site on this list, under the same Curaçao licence, with the same C$15 / C$30 / C$80 minimum withdrawals.

Bonus rules mirror its sister sites: table and live dealer games are off-limits while a bonus is active, and the maximum bet with a bonus is C$7. Withdrawal limits rise with your loyalty level, from C$750 per day at levels 1–10.

Bonus: Up to C$5,800 + 750 FS

BC.Game: Exclusive Tables and Provably Fair Games

BC.Game has branded live blackjack tables you won’t find elsewhere: BCGAME Blackjack Freebet (an Evolution table the site lists as exclusive), Bet Stacker Blackjack, Iron Blackjack and Bronze and Silver Blackjack tables. It is licensed in Anjouan (ALSI-202410011-FI1) and run by Twocent Technology Limited.

The site also runs its own provably fair originals, plus a VIP club with “Instant Lossback”. Crypto is the core of its cashier; for more on how that works, see our guide to crypto casinos in Canada.

How Online Blackjack Works

Online blackjack follows the same rules as the casino game: you try to finish closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Whether the cards come from a random number generator (RNG) or a real shoe in a live studio, the hand structure, options and payouts are identical.

Card Values and the Goal of the Game

Cards 2 to 10 count at face value. Jacks, queens and kings count as 10. An ace counts as 1 or 11, whichever helps the hand more.

A hand with an ace counted as 11 is a soft hand (ace-6 is “soft 17”), because one more card can’t bust it. Every other hand is a hard hand. An ace plus any ten-value card on the first two cards is a blackjack, the best hand in the game.

The Order of Play at a Blackjack Table

  1. Place your bet within the table’s minimum and maximum.
  2. Receive two cards face up; the dealer takes one face-up card (the “upcard”) and, in most games, a hole card.
  3. Insurance check if the dealer shows an ace (more on why to decline it below).
  4. Make your decisions: hit, stand, double, split or surrender, hand by hand.
  5. Dealer plays by fixed rules — no choices, no reading players.
  6. Settlement: higher total wins, ties push and your stake is returned.

The house edge comes from one simple fact: if you bust, you lose immediately, even if the dealer busts afterwards.

Your Options: Hit, Stand, Double, Split, Surrender

  • Hit: take another card. You can keep hitting until you stand or bust.
  • Stand: keep your total and end your turn.
  • Double down: double your bet, take exactly one more card. Most valuable on 10 and 11.
  • Split: turn a pair into two separate hands, each with its own bet equal to the first.
  • Surrender (where offered): give up the hand and get half your bet back. Late surrender, offered after the dealer checks for blackjack, is the common version.

Doubling and splitting are where you gain back much of the house’s advantage. A table that restricts them — for example, doubling only on 10 or 11, or no doubling after a split — is quietly charging you more.

How the Dealer Plays: S17 vs H17

The dealer must hit on 16 or less and stand on hard 17 or more. The only variable is soft 17. On an S17 table the dealer stands on soft 17; on an H17 table the dealer hits it. H17 is worse for you by roughly 0.2 percentage points, because the dealer gets a second chance to improve a mediocre hand.

The rule is almost always printed on the felt — “Dealer must stand on soft 17” or “Dealer must hit soft 17” — or in the game’s help screen. Our strategy chart below assumes S17.

Payouts: 3:2, 6:5 and Even Money

A normal win pays 1:1. A natural blackjack should pay 3:2, so a C$20 bet returns C$30 profit. Some tables pay only 6:5 on blackjack, which turns that C$30 into C$24.

Insurance pays 2:1, and “even money” is the offer to take a guaranteed 1:1 when you hold blackjack against a dealer ace. Both are covered in the side bets section, because mathematically they’re the same bet.

Blackjack Rules That Change the House Edge

With perfect basic strategy, a six-deck game paying 3:2, where the dealer stands on soft 17 and you can double after splitting, has a house edge of roughly 0.4% to 0.5%. That’s among the lowest in any casino. Change a few rules and it climbs, sometimes past 2%.

📋 Rule change📈 Approx. effect on house edge💡 What it means for you
Blackjack pays 6:5 instead of 3:2+1.4 pointsThe single most expensive rule; avoid these tables
Dealer hits soft 17 (H17)+0.2 pointsSmall but permanent cost on every hand
No doubling after a split+0.14 pointsHurts most when you split 2s, 3s, 6s and 7s
Doubling on 10 and 11 onlyAbout +0.2 pointsYou lose profitable soft doubles
No hole card (European-style), lose doubles and splits to a dealer blackjackAbout +0.1 pointsDon’t double or split against a ten or ace
Late surrender offeredAbout −0.08 pointsA small gain if you use it correctly
Single deck instead of six decks (other rules equal)Roughly −0.5 pointsGood, unless the table pays 6:5

These figures are standard approximations for a basic-strategy player; exact values depend on the full rule set, but the ranking of what matters holds.

Why 6:5 Blackjack Is the Rule to Avoid

A 6:5 payout costs more than every other bad rule combined. Here’s the money version: if you play 100 hands an hour at C$10, a 3:2 game at about 0.5% costs you around C$5 an hour on average. The same pace at a 6:5 table, at about 1.9%, costs around C$19.

Watch out:
Single-deck games are often advertised as the “best odds” but paired with a 6:5 payout. That trade is always bad for you — check the felt or the help screen before your first hand.

How Many Decks Are in the Shoe?

Fewer decks favour the player, because blackjacks are slightly more likely and doubling works better. Most live tables use six or eight decks, while RNG games range from one to eight. The difference between six and eight decks is tiny; the jump from six decks to one is meaningful.

How to Read a Table’s Rules in 30 Seconds

  1. Find the blackjack payout on the felt: you want “Blackjack pays 3 to 2”.
  2. Check the soft 17 line: “Dealer must stand on soft 17” is the better version.
  3. Open the help (i) screen for decks, doubling and splitting rules, and surrender.
  4. Look for the RTP figure: most providers publish it in the help screen. Higher is better.

Basic Strategy Chart for Online Blackjack

Basic strategy is the mathematically best play for every hand against every dealer upcard. The charts below are for four to eight decks, dealer stands on soft 17, double after split allowed, and late surrender where offered — the most common online rule set.

Key: H = hit, S = stand, D = double if allowed, otherwise hit, Ds = double if allowed, otherwise stand, P = split, R = surrender if allowed, otherwise hit. Columns are the dealer’s upcard.

If the table doesn’t allow doubling after a split, hit 2,2 and 3,3 against 2 and 3, hit 4,4 always, and hit 6,6 against a 2; everything else stays the same.

When to Surrender

With late surrender and S17, only three hands qualify: hard 16 against 9, 10 or ace, and hard 15 against 10. Never surrender 8,8 on an S17 table — split it. If surrender isn’t offered, hit those hands as shown in the chart.

Five Strategy Plays Most Players Get Wrong

  • Standing on 12 against a 2 or 3. Hit; the dealer isn’t weak enough.
  • Standing on soft 18 against 9, 10 or ace. Hit; 18 loses too often there.
  • Not splitting 8s against a 10. Hard 16 is the worst hand in the game; two hands starting at 8 lose less.
  • Splitting 10s. A 20 wins most of the time; don’t break it.
  • Doubling 11 against an ace on an S17 shoe game. Just hit.

Pro Tip:
RNG tables let you play at your own pace. Keep the chart open in another window and follow it hand by hand at the lowest stake until you stop needing it.

Online Blackjack Variants in Canadian Lobbies

Most “variants” are the same game with a different rule set, payout or side feature. The names in the lobby tell you little; the help screen tells you everything. These are the families we saw in our screenshots.

Classic, European and American Blackjack

“Classic” usually means a standard multi-deck game. In American-style blackjack the dealer takes a hole card and checks for blackjack, so you only lose your original bet to a dealer natural. European-style games often skip the hole card, which means a dealer blackjack also takes your doubles and splits. Kingmaker lists both as separate RNG games.

Single-Deck Blackjack

One deck lowers the house edge, all else equal. The catch is that operators often compensate with a 6:5 payout or tighter doubling rules. Kingmaker’s lobby shows a Single Deck Blackjack title; check its payout line before assuming it’s the better choice.

Multihand Blackjack

Multihand games let you play several boxes against one dealer hand — 22Casino shows Classic Multihand, Surrender Multihand and five-hand versions, and Wild Tokyo shows Multihand Blackjack Pro 2. More hands mean more money exposed per round, not better odds, so lower your stake per box accordingly.

Free Bet and Bet Stacker Tables

In the usual Free Bet format, the casino gives you free doubles on certain totals and free splits on most pairs, but a dealer 22 pushes instead of busting. That last rule pays for the freebies. BC.Game lists its own BCGAME Blackjack Freebet table. Strategy differs from the chart above, so read the help screen first.

Multiplier Tables: Gravity, Grand Bonus and Super Boost

Gravity Blackjack, Grand Bonus Blackjack and Gold Saloon Super Boost add random multipliers or bonus payouts. Those extras are paid for somewhere — usually a fee per hand, a lower base payout or changed rules. They make for exciting sessions, but don’t assume the RTP matches a classic table; compare the figure in each help screen.

Live Dealer Blackjack Online

Live blackjack streams a real dealer and a physical shoe from a studio, and you make decisions on screen within a timer. It’s slower than RNG play — often far fewer hands per hour — which also means lower average losses per hour at the same stake.

How Live Blackjack Tables Work

Classic live tables seat a fixed number of players, typically seven, each with their own hand. When a table is full, many games let you “bet behind” a seated player, following their decisions. Other formats deal one common hand to unlimited players, each making their own decisions on the same cards.

For more on studios, game shows and live roulette, see our live casino guide.

Live Studios in These Blackjack Lobbies

Across our screenshots, the live blackjack tables came from Imagine Live (VIP Blackjack 3, Ultimate Blackjack), Live Vegas (BlackJack De Luxe), Winfinity (Venice VIP Blackjack, Bar Blackjack 3), ICONIC21 (Gravity, Oasis and Grand Bonus Blackjack), Jacktop (BlackJack) and Evolution (BCGAME Blackjack Freebet at BC.Game).

Different studios mean different minimums, decision timers and rule sets, even when the table names look alike. Pick a table, open its rules, and stay there if they’re good.

Live Table Etiquette and Timing

Live tables run on a countdown. If your connection drops or you miss the timer, most games apply a default action, usually standing. Play on a stable connection, and don’t sit at a high-limit VIP table just because a seat is open.

Blackjack Side Bets: What They Cost You

Side bets carry a much higher house edge than the main game, often several percent or more depending on the pay table. They’re entertainment, not strategy; the 0.5% game underneath is where your money lasts longest.

Insurance and Even Money

Insurance is a side bet that the dealer’s hole card is a ten, paying 2:1. In a fresh six-deck shoe with a dealer ace showing, 96 of the remaining 311 cards are tens — about 30.9%. Paying 2:1 on a 30.9% chance gives the house an edge of about 7.4%. Even money on your blackjack is the same bet, so decline both.

Perfect Pairs and 21+3

Perfect Pairs pays if your first two cards are a pair, with more for a coloured or perfect pair. 21+3 combines your two cards with the dealer’s upcard into a three-card poker hand: flush, straight, three of a kind or straight flush. 22Casino’s “Pair & Poker Pays” table builds both ideas into one game.

Should You Ever Play Side Bets?

Only with a fixed, small slice of your stake. A C$1 side bet next to a C$20 main bet barely moves your session. A C$10 side bet next to a C$10 main bet can easily double your expected hourly loss.

Can You Use a Casino Bonus on Blackjack?

Usually not in any useful way. On the sites we checked, bonus terms either block table and live games while a bonus is active or count them at 0% toward wagering. Here’s what each operator’s terms say (verified on the operators’ sites in October 2026).

KingmakerCheck the specific promotion’s game listDefault deposit bonus x35 on deposit + bonus; max win 10x bonus
GolisimoCheck the specific promotion’s game listLive Cashback 25% up to $300

For a blackjack player, the practical rule is: decline the welcome bonus unless you also want to play slots, and look for cashback instead.

Why Casinos Restrict Blackjack on Bonuses

Wagering math explains it. At Kingmaker’s default x35 on deposit plus bonus, a C$100 deposit with a C$100 bonus means C$7,000 in bets. At a 0.5% edge, blackjack would cost about C$35 in expected losses to clear a C$100 bonus — a clear profit for the player. That’s exactly why operators exclude it. Our wagering requirements guide walks through more examples.

Cashback: The Promotion That Suits Blackjack

Cashback refunds a share of net losses, often with light or no wagering, so it works with any game it covers. Golisimo’s Live Cashback (25% up to $300) explicitly targets live play. Read the promotion’s own terms for which games qualify and any wagering on the refund. More options are in our cashback bonus guide.

Bonus Rules That Can Void Your Winnings

If you do play with a bonus, know the traps. GBL Solutions sites cap bets at C$7 with a bonus active, Vave at 5 USDT. Winshark’s terms, which share this framework, forbid leaving bets on table games and returning after wagering is done. Breaking any of these can cost you the bonus and its winnings.

Card Counting Online: What Actually Works

Card counting doesn’t work at RNG blackjack and rarely gives a usable edge at live tables. Counting tracks the ratio of high to low cards left in a shoe; it only helps when many cards are dealt before a reshuffle and you can raise your bets sharply when the count is good.

RNG Blackjack: Every Hand Is a Fresh Shoe

Digital blackjack typically shuffles the virtual deck before every round, so there’s nothing to count. The best you can do at an RNG table is play perfect basic strategy at a game with good rules.

Live Blackjack: Deep Shuffle Points and Bet Limits

Live studios usually cut off a large part of an eight- or six-deck shoe before reshuffling, which weakens any count. Add timed decisions and table limits, and the edge left over is tiny. Operators can also restrict accounts they believe are advantage play — so treat counting as theory, not a plan.

Bankroll Management for Blackjack Players

Your bankroll should be money you can afford to lose, split into small units. Even at a 0.5% edge, short-term swings are large: losing ten hands in a row is unremarkable over a long session.

Sizing Your Bets

A common approach is to keep each main bet to around 1–2% of your session budget. With C$300 set aside, that’s C$3–C$6 a hand. Remember that doubles and splits can put two to four times your bet on the table, so leave room for them.

Why Betting Systems Don’t Beat the Edge

Martingale (doubling after every loss) and similar progressions change the shape of your results, not the average. You win small amounts often and occasionally lose a lot, especially when you hit the table maximum. No staking pattern turns a negative-expectation game into a positive one.

Gambling in Canada is legal when it’s “conducted and managed” by a provincial government or under its licence, under section 207(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. There’s no federal online regulator; each province decides how its residents can play.

Provincial Sites vs Offshore Casinos

Ontario has a regulated market overseen by the AGCO and iGaming Ontario (19+), and Alberta launched its own regulated market on July 13, 2026 (18+). Other provinces offer government sites: PlayNow.com in British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, lotoquebec.com in Quebec, and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s site in Atlantic Canada.

The eight casinos on this page are licensed outside Canada (Curaçao, Kahnawake, Anjouan, or no licence named). They are not regulated by your province, so a provincial regulator can’t settle a dispute with them. If you live in Ontario or Alberta, use your province’s regulated sites — see our Ontario online casinos page and our guide to whether online gambling is legal in Canada.

Are Blackjack Winnings Taxed in Canada?

For recreational players, generally no. The CRA treats casual gambling winnings as windfalls, not income. The exception is someone “in the business of gambling”, and any interest you later earn on winnings is taxable like other interest.

How to Start Playing Online Blackjack

Starting takes a few minutes, but the order matters: check legality and limits before you think about tables.

  1. Check your province: in Ontario or Alberta, choose a provincially regulated site.
  2. Pick a casino whose licence, payment methods and blackjack lobby suit you — Interac users can compare options in our Interac casinos guide.
  3. Register and verify: expect to upload ID and proof of address before your first withdrawal.
  4. Set a deposit limit in the account settings before your first deposit.
  5. Skip the welcome bonus if you only want blackjack, so table play isn’t blocked.
  6. Choose a 3:2, S17 table and keep the strategy chart open.

Responsible Gambling at the Blackjack Table

Blackjack’s low edge can make long sessions feel safe, but fast RNG play adds up quickly. Decide your budget and time limit before you sit down, and stop when you reach either one.

With perfect basic strategy, a six-deck game paying 3:2 where the dealer stands on soft 17 has a house edge of roughly 0.4% to 0.5%. A 6:5 blackjack payout adds about 1.4 percentage points.

Rarely. Need for Spin, Wild Tokyo and Rolling Slots block table and live games while a bonus is active, and Vave counts them at 0%. Cashback, such as Golisimo’s 25% Live Cashback, suits blackjack better. See our wagering guide.

No for RNG blackjack, which usually reshuffles every round. At live tables, deep shuffle points, timers and bet limits leave very little edge, and operators may restrict advantage players.

For recreational players, generally no: the CRA treats casual gambling winnings as windfalls. People in the business of gambling may be taxed, and interest earned on winnings is taxable.

No. Insurance pays 2:1 on a dealer blackjack, but in a six-deck shoe the chance of a ten under the ace is about 30.9%, giving the house roughly a 7.4% edge. Even money is the same bet.
