888 Casino Ontario is operated by VHL Ontario Limited, which the footer of every 888casino.ca page describes as “licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO)”. The same statement appears on the 888.ca licensing page, so there is no ambiguity about which company you are dealing with in Ontario.
VHL Ontario Limited and the 888 Group
The registered address given in the footer is 601-701 Europort, Gibraltar. The 888.ca footer links to evoke Plc., and the About page presents 888casino as part of the 888 holdings group, listed on the London Stock Exchange since September 2005.
That corporate depth matters less for daily play than for trust: a listed group with a long history has more to lose from a regulatory breach than a small start-up.
AGCO Registration and iGaming Ontario Listing
On October 13, 2026, iGaming Ontario’s official list of regulated sites showed “888 Casino” in the Casino category, linking to 888casino.ca. Filtering that list by the operator VHL Ontario Limited returns three entries: 888 Casino, 888 Poker and 888 Sport.
The site footer also carries the iGaming Ontario and BetGuard logos. Before you register anywhere, it is worth checking the iGaming Ontario regulated-site list yourself — it is the simplest way to confirm you are on a legal Ontario site and not a lookalike.
What Ontario Regulation Means for You
Ontario opened its regulated iGaming market on April 4, 2022. The AGCO registers operators under the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming, and iGaming Ontario conducts and manages the market through agreements with them. In practice, regulation gives you identity checks, mandatory responsible-gambling tools, a provincial regulator to complain to, and access to BetGuard, the province-wide self-exclusion programme. It is also why you will not see bonus figures in this review: AGCO Standard 2.05 bans public advertising of inducements. Promotions, if any, are shown to players once they are logged in on the operator’s site.
Conflicting Licence Wording to Be Aware Of
The About page still says 888casino “is licensed by the Government of Gibraltar” and mentions 18 languages. That reads as brand-wide copy shared with 888’s international sites; the Ontario footer and licensing page name the AGCO only. If you want certainty, read the footer on the page you are playing on and confirm it on the iGaming Ontario list.
One more detail: some older listings show 888 Casino under several categories (casino, poker, sports and more). The live iGaming Ontario page on October 13 showed 888 Casino as Casino only, with poker and sports as separate entries, and that is what we followed.
Age and Location Rules
The responsible-gaming policy says the company does not allow anyone under 19 to play, “in line with Ontario gambling legislation, the standards of the AGCO and the policies of Internet Gaming Ontario”. You must also be physically located in Ontario when you play.
The site enforces that: from our Montreal test connection, every page showed an “Almost There!” location modal, which is exactly what a geo-check should do. Never try to work around it — compare other options in our Ontario online casinos guide instead if you are outside the province.

What sets it apart is the 888 Exclusive section, built on an in-house studio that, in 888’s words, develops “completely unique games exclusive to 888casino”.
How the Lobby Is Organised
The header switches between CASINO, POKER and SPORT, and the casino lobby is split into clear categories. When we went through it, the menu listed Slots, Live Casino, New Games, Casino Games, 888 Exclusive, Jackpots, Drops & Wins, Arcade, Bonus Buy, Megaways and Vegas Slots.

Exclusives do not pay better by default — the rules and RTP of each game are what count — but they do give 888 a lobby that is genuinely different from the many Ontario sites built on the same supplier mix.

Because these are business days, a request made on a Friday afternoon will usually not start moving until Monday.
Worked example: you request a C$150 Interac withdrawal on Tuesday morning. The pending day runs to Wednesday; Interac then needs one to three business days, so the money should land between Thursday and the following Monday. The same request to Visa could take until the next Tuesday.
Reverse Withdrawals and How to Switch Them Off
The pending day is also when a withdrawal can be reversed back into your balance. 888’s responsible-gaming tools include a reverse-withdrawal preference that you can switch off, which removes the temptation to cancel a cash-out and keep playing.
Pro Tip:
Turn off reverse withdrawals in the Control Centre before your first cash-out. Once a withdrawal is requested, it then goes through without a “cancel” button tempting you during the pending day.
Mastercard and Visa Credit Card Caveats
The Withdrawal Policy states plainly that “888 is not permitted to pay withdrawals to MasterCard credit cards”. It also lists Canada among countries where some Visa credit-card issuers do not allow withdrawals to Visa credit cards. Fees, Limits and Missing Methods
888 does not list a fee of its own, but notes that “your bank or payment processor may levy a fee to process your withdrawal”. The minimum withdrawal is C$5 for all methods, and the policy adds that some payment methods set a maximum per withdrawal.

888 Casino Ontario has a dedicated iOS app on the Canadian App Store, “888 Casino – Play Games Online”, whose description says it is for players located in Ontario or Alberta. Android players should use the mobile site, as we found no 888 Casino Ontario app on Google Play.

The App Store listing (seller 888 UK Limited) is the one tied to Ontario. A second 888 Casino app on the Canadian App Store, from a different seller, carries no Ontario wording, so make sure you install the one that names Ontario in its description.
Android and the Mobile Site
888’s mobile page invites you to “download the 888casino app to your iOS, Android, tablet or iPhone”, but gives no store links. A Google Play Canada search for 888 casino Ontario returned only the 888poker Ontario app. Until that changes, Android users play in the browser, which loads the same lobby and cashier.
Stale Promotional Copy on the Mobile Page
